Based in Wisconsin and Washington D.C., I’m a sports and portraiture photographer who’s work is influenced by presenting the world of sports in a unique way — documenting the professional athletes as they are. In a sporting event, the most memorable moments often happen out of reach, miles from audience seats. This is when I get to photograph relatable portraits of athletes, human with feelings, allowing for fans or viewers to feel like they’re an intimate part of any sport.
I served as the official team photographer for the NHL’s Washington Capitals for nearly 10 years, and was the staff photographer for MLB’s Washington Nationals baseball team. From covering almost every sporting event from the Olympics and IRONMAN, to the 2018 Stanley Cup Finals, my passion and artistry stems from my interest in conveying the power of emotions on and off the playing field.
So now that I’ve told you about my sports photography, you may be thinking, wait isn’t this a wedding website? Yes, yes it is. Being a photojournalist first and foremost has given me a genuine desire to meet people. It gives me such a tremendous feeling to know that you have trusted me with sharing one of the most amazing days of your lives with you. I’ve seen some amazing moments touching on every emotion out there. From the first moment your eyes meet to exchanging vows, first dances, speeches - I strive to capture these moments that could stand alone as works of art.
What I do is cover your day as is. Not with a “Do that again,” “Hey, can you move over here a little,” or “Can you cut the cake slower?” I approach weddings the same way I do when photographing a portrait of Bryce Harper or Alex Ovechkin, with a sense of responsibility and the passion to make images that go beyond what the typical cookie-cutter wedding photography out there.
When I’m not in a stadium, you can find me running, traveling and spending time with my family and teacup yorkie Gus.
I am available to travel anywhere in the world to be a part of your big day. Interested? Let me know and we will work on ways to make your big day even more wonderful and create memories that will last a lifetime. You know you want a great portrait to hang in that frame Aunt Sally bought you.
